Can you imagine if…

If what just happened to the Cowboys happened to a team in the SEC, ACC or BIG 12? Other than a handful of schools in those conferences the OC doesn’t make it out of press box before the head coach is forced to fire him or just fires him on his own accord. At a lot of those the head coaches would be fired too. Raydio is right, that is big boy football and we don’t play that. Could Polasek be the worst OC/QB coach since Bob Cole? (Gulp). This offense is an AM Pacer up on blocks.

The one wrinkle the OC put in this week was the RPO for Clemons but after being burned a couple times early on Boise took it away and made Clemons throw from the pocket which he couldn’t do. Clearly Whittingham knew what he he was talking about - I digress. Why does this staff make the passing game so hard? No dump downs, screens, crossers, etc. I wonder if Ferentz had to buy The Old Bald Coache’s wife a horse to hire away Polasuck or did a bottle of Pendleton suffice?

Basketball

This was supposed to be the year that we get huge out of conference wins, crack the Top 25, pile up MW wins, and cruise into the NCAA Tournament.

I understand Ike is out and there is LOTS of season left, but man, this is beyond disappointing.

Liking like we will have to win the MW tourney to get to The Dance…like most years.

Sigh.

Loved the Play call...

...if it were in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. For the entire tenure of Craig Bohl football, he's never been a guy that you'd say was unpredictable. I can't recall a time in recent memory when a Cowboy team was giftwrapped--giftwrapped-- a such a late opportunity to win a monster game like we had given to us tonight. We had a RB that had over 200 yards rushing, the ball on Boise's 21 yard line with :45 seconds left, it's all set up, and for the first time in Bohl history...he decides to get clever and go with the guy who's 3-16 for 30 yards with two picks.

Bohl'd move for sure. Bordering on stupidity really. I'll admit--he sure fooled me.

For as predictable and mundane as Wyo's offense is, we actually needed mundane at that moment--all we needed was to give the ball to Swen a couple times, see what he could get us, and kick the FG to extend the game if we needed to. Curious as to why Bohl thought the situation called for that kind of play...

Bohl has never been innovative as a player caller, and that call in some ways was a sophomore move. Bohl's teams simply aren't the kind of teams that are up to pulling off bold moves like that. In big boy football, those are the play calls that get you fired. In Cowboyland, you'll get a two-year extension, because hey, seven wins!

All season long, I've said, yeah we got seven unexciting wins--but take them as they come, be grateful, might as well be us on top, we played a meaningful football game in late November for the first time in ages, etc...but are we actually any good?

I've never thought we were a good team this season, but in a year when the league is average, we're the ones who stepped up. And did it with a offensive roster lacking skill guys and depth. I think we got a little better as the season went. Bohl will probably be MWC coach of the year.

We were good enough to win tonight but the coaches weren't. What an opportunity squandered.

Burman's Tenure on the field of play 2006-Present

Look we all support our student athletes. This is not a reflection on them, this is a reflection on the adults that get paid hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars. What have we actually won in the past 16 years? I'm going off of mostly memory, please add to the list.

- 1 WNIT championship
- 1 division title in football (lost in championship)
- 1 MBB conference tournament title (lost in first round, have never won regular reason in tenure)
- 1 soccer regular season title (lost in conference tournament)
- Another 1 NCAAM and 2 NCAAW basketball tournament appearances (both lost in 1st round)
-1 WBB tournament title
- We might have won a volleyball championship?
-Football Border War Record 11-6 (probably the highlight)

Wrestling (since 2014) 72-51
Football Record 84-110
Men's bball record 268-255
Women's basketball - Didn't add up, probably around a .60 wining percentage.
