LARAMIE, Wyo. (MARCH 10, 2025) –
The Wyoming Cowboys face the eighth-seeded San Jose State Spartans in the First Round of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Men’s Basketball Championship on Wednesday at Noon MT in the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Wyoming is the ninth seed in the championship and have played 13 games decided by four or less points this season.



The First Round will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and the Mountain West App with Nate Kreckman on the call alongside Terrence Ogelsby.



Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.



About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 12-19 overall recorded and finished conference play at 5-15. UW finished the regular season with a pair of loss by four points. The Pokes are shooting 43.9 percent from the field this season with opponents shooting 44.6 percent. Wyoming is shooting 34.9 percent from behind the arc and are adding 7.8 threes per game for the season. The Cowboys are grabbing 34.8 rebounds per game and are +1.9 on the glass this season.



The Spartans head into the tournament with a 14-18 overall record and finished with a 7-13 mark in conference play. San Jose State downed Fresno State on Saturday. San Jose State is averaging 73 points per game and are allowing 74.1 points per night. The Spartans are shooting 44.9 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from behind the arc averaging 8.2 three pointers per game. Opponents are shooting 46 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.



About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 17.8 points per game for fourth in the conference. He is shooting 44.4 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank fourth in the nation. He leads the team with 3.5 assists per game to rank No. 12 in the MW. Jordan Nesbitt added has eight double-doubles on the season for third in the conference. He adds 8.4 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fifth in the MW. Dontaie Allen adds 7.9 points per game and is second on the team at 9.9 points per game in conference play. Kobe Newton adds 7.5 points per game and has made 48 threes for the season.



The Spartans are led in scoring by Josh Uduje at 16.6 points per game for sixth in the conference. He is shooting 49.5 percent from the field and adds 4.4 rebounds per game. Latrell Davis adds 11.4 points per game and leads the team with 49 made three pointers. Robert Vaihola adds 7.7 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game.



About The Series

The Cowboys lead the all-time series with the Spartans 22-5, but San Jose State took both meetings this season. The two teams have met twice on a neutral floor with the Pokes winning both meetings in MW Championship including a 111-80 win in 2021.
