Cowboy Cagers Play Host to San Jose State on Saturday

Contest slated for 2 p.m. start

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 20, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys close their two-game homestand on Saturday hosting San Jose State in a Saturday matinee in a 2 p.m. start in the Arena-Auditorium. The contest will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and is the second to last home game for the Cowboys this season.



Fans can watch and listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 12-15 overall record and a 5-11 mark in conference play after defeating Air Force 69-62 on Tuesday. Wyoming shot 61 percent in the second half and overcame a double-digit deficit. The Pokes and opponents are shooting 44.3 percent from the field this season. The Cowboys are shooting 35.1 percent from behind the arc and are grabbing 34.9 rebounds per game and are +2.1 on the glass this season. Wyoming’s bench scores 23.6 points per game for third in the conference.



The Spartans are 12-16 overall and 5-11 in conference play after falling on the road to Utah State on Wednesday. SJSU averages 72.7 points per game and are allowing 73.9 per night. The Spartans are shooting 44.7 percent from the field with the opposition at 45.6. SJSU adds 8.1 threes per game to rank third in the conference. The Spartans are shooting 36.4 percent in conference play from behind the arc for fourth in the MW.



About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 17.9 points per game for fourth in the conference. He is shooting 46.5 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank fourth in the nation. He leads the team with 3.4 assists per game to rank No. 12 in the MW. Jordan Nesbitt added has eight double-doubles on the season for third in the conference. He adds 8.5 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW, as he recorded 10 boards against Air Force. Kobe Newton adds 7.4 points per game and has made 39 threes for the season. Dontaie Allen adds 7.7 points per game and is second on the team at 10 points per game in conference play.



San Jose State is led in scoring by Josh Uduje at 16 points per game along with 4.4 rebounds. He is shooting 48.9 percent from the field. Will McClendon adds 12 points per game but has missed time with an injury Latrell Davis adds 11.4 points per game. Robert Vaihola adds 6.9 rebounds per game to lead the team.



About The Series

The Cowboys lead the all-time series with San Jose State 22-4 in a series that dates back to 1964. The Pokes lost the first meeting 67-58 on Jan. 25. Wyoming is 11-0 all-time against the Spartans.
