Cowboy Basketball Return to Arena-Auditorium Hosting Fresno State on Tuesday

Contest set for 6:30 p.m. start


LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 26, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys return to the friendly confines of the Arena-Auditorium on Tuesday hosting Fresno State. The contest is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start on the Mountain West Network.

Fans can watch and listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.



About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 10-10 overall record and a 3-6 mark in conference play after falling on the road at San Jose State on Saturday. The Pokes are averaging 68.5 points per game and are allowing 70.8 points per night. UW is shooting 44.3 percent from the field and opponents are shooting 44.2 percent. UW is shooting 35 percent from behind the arc for the season and 37.4 percent in conference play for second in the league in MW contests.



The Bulldogs head into Tuesday’s game with a 5-15 overall record and a 1-8 mark in conference play. Fresno State scores 72.4 points per game and allow 81.6 points per night. Fresno State shoots 40.5 percent from the field with the opposition shooting 46.3 percent. The Bulldogs average 35.3 rebounds per game and record 7.4 steals per contest to rank fourth in the conference.



About The Players

The Cowboys are led by Obi Agbim at 18.2 points per game for second in the conference. He is shooting 45.4 percent from behind the arc to lead the league and rank sixth in the nation. Jordan Nesbitt added his seventh double-double of the season at UNLV to rank third in the MW and No. 34 in the nation. He adds 8.6 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per night to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. Kobe Newton adds 7.9 points per game and has made 31 threes for the season.



Fresno State is led in scoring by Zaon Collins at 13.1 points per game this season. He also adds 3.6 rebounds per game and leads the team with 78 assists. Alex Crawford adds 12.2 points per game and 3.5 rebounds. Jalen Weaver adds 11.2 points per game and Elijah Price leads the team with eight rebounds per game.



About The Series

The Cowboys and Bulldogs will meet for the 41st time on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 23-17 in a series that dates back to 1972. Wyoming is 12-6 all-time against Fresno State in Laramie.
