Pokes Head South to Face Front Range Foe Air Force on Saturday

Contest on MW Network and televised on Altitude2


LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 2, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys head south for a matchup with Front Range foe Air Force on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. inside Clune Arena on the campus of the United States Air Force Academy. It marks the first road conference contest for the Cowboys in a month after opening conference play at Utah State in December.



Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. It will also be televised on Altitude2. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.



About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with an 8-6 overall record and a 1-2 mark in conference play after falling to Preseason MW favorite Boise State 67-58 at home on Tuesday. The Pokes are shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from behind the arc. Opponents are shooting 43 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from behind the arc. In conference play, UW is shooting is shooting both 44 percent from the field and behind the arc with 10.7 makes per game. UW ranks fifth in the MW with 36.7 rebounds per game.



The Falcons head into the weekend with a 3-10 record and a 0-2 mark in conference play after falling at home to UNLV by a score of 77-58. Air Force is shooting 46.3 percent from the field with opponents shooting 46.6 percent. Air Force shoots 34 percent from behind the arc and allows opponents to shoot 36.1 percent. The Falcons average 29.6 rebounds per game.



About The Players

The Cowboys are led in scoring this season by Obi Agbim at 18.5 points per game for second in the MW. He ranks in the top-five in the league in field goal percentage and three-point percent, where he leads the conference at 45.8 percent. Jordan Nesbitt adds 9.3 points per game and leads the team with 7.6 rebounds per night, which is fourth in the conference. The Cowboys have eight players adding five or more points per game with Kobe Newton and Touko Tainamo averaging over eight per night.



The Falcons are led in scoring by Ethan Taylor at 14.8 points per game. He is shooting 39 percent from behind the arc and ranks first in the MW with 3.2 made threes per game, which ranks No. 33 in the nation. Wesley Celichowski adds 10 points per game and is shooting 52.4 percent from the field.



About The Series

The Cowboys and Falcons will meet for the 128th time on Saturday. Wyoming leads the all-time series 84-43 and owns a 36-24 record in Colorado Springs. The first meeting came in 1958.
