The University of Washington has filed an appeal to the restraining order that the PAC 2 schools got a few weeks ago. The other schools that are leaving the PAC 12 have filed statements in support of Washington's appeal. It sounds like this is a delaying action, as it doesn't appear that this will be successful. It is also mentioned that both OSU and WSU have offered to work with the remainder of the PAC conference on the NCAA Tournament Units that is owed to the teams in the PAC that were earned over the previous years and that money amounts to a little over $60 million.
I understand the PAC 2 and the MWC have an agreement on a merger framework in place. The comments I heard were that the PAC 2 and the MWC have had very deep and extensive discussions about the merger and a framework of a merger has been agreed upon.
Truly what is happening here is what we all expected, and that is more negotiations between the parties. This is not over but it is most definitely moving forward.
