For most of the day today--well after the bombing in Kabul, the only statement on the White House website was a proclamation recognizing Women's Equality Day.
Finally, at 5 p.m. EST, the fogged-out Commander-in Chief finished his juice box, had an aide change his diaper, wandered to the podium, stammered on about how more or less, the buck stops with him on this fiasco, while also admitting we provided a list of Afghan allies and green card holders to the taliban so they could find them easier and help those people get to the airport.
Then of course he blamed Trump, ignoring the fact that of the 20 years we were in Afghanistan, Biden was VP for eight of those years, President for eight months, and was Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee twice for four years during that time. He owns this just as much as Bush does.
Then Biden kicked off the press conference with this:
"Ladies and gentlemen, they gave me a list here. The first person I was instructed to call on was Kelly O'Donnell from NBC." And the press are cool with that.
A few reports from Kabul tonight are talking about yet anther massive explosion; some are saying it's the U.S. destroying it's weaponry. Hope so, but nonetheless, how do you "abandon" $10m Blackhawk helicopters and $6m M1-Abrams tanks? Plus all the tech and firearms?
Then they praise themselves with a straight face about the remarkable job they are doing getting people out of Kabul---from a crisis they created.
It's not real to these people.
If you were going to destroy the US, you'd steal an election, torpedo the economy, knee-cap our ability to produce energy, open the border to 200,000 people from all countries each month to come in illegally and unvetted, spend the country even further into insolvency, pay people to stay home with free rent, teach white schoolchildren they are racist, criminalize those who protest against you, diminish our stature in the world both morally and militarily, send proxies into the streets to assault people, destroy private property and create chaos without fear of prosecution--then defund the police,
You'd also continually move the goalposts on what "success" is re: Covid, and demonize people who aren't buying your inept bull$hit anymore by refusing a vaccine they were told would be 95 percent effective, but turns out to be about 60% effective and enables variants to easily adapt and proliferate. You'd also send the economy into another tailspin by mandating vaccine passports in order to do simple things like dine out/shop/work.
We spent $4.2T on Covid, and a year later our plan is to keep pushing masks few people even wash and a leaky vaccine for f*cks sake...
But if you're a democrat having a birthday party or a fundraiser, then only the wait staff have to mask up. Can't have those dirtbags breathing on you, ya know...
IMO, the main reason people are confused and outraged is that most of us can’t wrap our heads around the notion that we could be f*cked with by an organized agenda of human monsters who have genuine hate for this country but view themselves as special. Good-hearted people refuse to acknowledge that there are such people capable of this level of evil, even when it's right in front of them. You can laugh or sluff it off, but there's no doubt people are having conversations amongst themselves about scenarios they never believed were actually possible in the U.S.
