Amassed a 109-83 record over 15 seasons with two 11 win, one 10 win, three 9 win, three 8 win and a 7 win season for 10 bowl eligible seasons.

His downfall was the last 3 seasons which were sub .500.

I am guessing the transfer portal doesn’t benefit the service academies the same way it can benefit other programs making a tough job even more challenging.

Bohl only has to pick up 57 wins in the next 6 years to equal the total amassed at Navy by Ken Niumatalolo.

As a rush first team since Bohl became the Wyoming coach, Navy only finished nationally below Wyoming in rushing yards during the shortened 2020 season.

It proves you can win being a rush first program, but you have to be really, really good at rushing as Navy won a lot of games when over 300+ yards on average but had recently been in the upper 100’s to the lower 200’s while winning only 4 games a year.

Just an observation about teams that don’t use the pass much and Navy usually passes less than the AFA. No hiding that the next play up is a rush for those teams.

Howdy Doody has won 71 games the past 9 years using the rush only attack for a 7.89 win per year ratio further proving that the rush only attack wins a lot of games when it is over 300 yards per game with a reasonable defense.

Therefore we either better get so good at rushing we average well over 300 yards per game or learn how to be a really good balanced offense. Otherwise the win ratio will become more like our current 5.78 the past 9 years (6.57 the past 7) which got Navy into the new coach mode. The past 7 years Navy averaged 5.87 wins per year and the past 9 at 6.67 wins. Very similar overall except Navy has trended losing 1 more game per year while Wyoming has trended upward winning 1 additional game per year.
