I heard Mike Gundy of OSU interviewed on McAfee and he talked about having a QR code program for their star running back. Basically if you are putting down some pints of your favorite IPA at the local sports bar and your favorite Poke scores a touchdown you could more or less Venmo your favorite player on the spot by scanning a QR code at the bar. Sounds like a good idea on the surface but I do think that the big fellas doing all the dirty work in the trenches need some money too and not just the skill guys. But it is just another example of things our collective could do to pay the players. All sorts of ideas and ways to make it work with technology.
