Incoming freshman Lane Foard placed 5th and went 7-2 in U20 freestyle.

Josh Alden also went 7-2.

Hoffschneider and Avila 3-2.

UW wrestlers beat some big school opponents (Minnesota, NC State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Stanford, Cornell, Indiana, Michigan).

Next tourney Pokes will wrestle in is the U23 Nationals at the end of May.

She didn't get a whole lotta playing time at Indiana but the top 5 reported landing spots included some decent programs.

Sign any free agent contracts after the draft?

A few months back, maybe a year. Everyone was bagging on the City of Laramie for rejecting an apartment complex that was very poorly sited. Well, just read in the paper that city of Cheyenne did the same thing with a 195 unit complex with amenities. What's up with that?

Just read that BYU and another school (can’t remember which one) have basketball portal budgets of twelve million dollars. Forget facilities, quality of education, bonding with a coach etc. because it is all about money now. If Wyoming can’t find a way to substantially increase their NIL budget, they will have no chance of competing in today’s athletic landscape.

Chris Thomas with extensive international experience. Hope he has connections to some good international players.

Offense again looked good. Seemed to move the ball pretty well. Anderson is head and shoulders ahead of any other QB. Hes accurate and has firm control of the Offense. Most QBs had chance to throw the ball but seemed like Bautista wasn’t afforded the opportunity. Lots of deep balls thrown, a few completed but some WR drops or just gave up on the ball. WR routes are crisp and there seems to be an expanded route tree. Amazing what a difference a good WR Coach makes.

On Defense I thought LB Rutherford played well and DE Eltoum Murgus (a player to take note of) was in the backfield quite a bit. He reminds me of Granderson, not as tall but thin and lanky. Needs to add some weight but was making plays. Tackling seemed solid but I just don’t know how much speed there is on D.

Kickers were just ok, nothing special. Made a few FGs, but not tested on long attempts. Punting was decent.

Just a few observations but not bad for some spring action.

We see some players follow their HC to new school when he’s hired away. We didn’t see any UWGB players follow Wicks to UW. Henry was committed to UWGB prior to coming to UW but never played there. So what’s that say about players he coached there? Not good enough for MWC? Not sold on Wicks coaching? He was only there one year but surely there were one or two players that could play for UW. He did recruit and offer Gavin Gores while at UWGB so there’s that.
