Are you up for 2025?

As we broil our way through Summer 2025, I’m ready to put all this realignment blah, blah to the side and examine the coming football season.

Schedule: Being the swan song of the Traitor Five, I of course would like to see the Pokes sweep the bastards, particularly the school down south, but do the Pokes have the personnel to get it done? I’m sure we’ll have a robust debate as we approach kickoff. I really like the non-conference schedule as it will allow me to catch three Wyoming games! First, I’m hoping to convince Mad Cowboy to drive over to Akron, Ohio to see the Pokes beat the Zips. Second, I’ll be coming out to see Wyoming host the Utah Utes. Third, I’ll hang around for a week checking out my favorite fly fishing spots then catch the Pokes in action against the Fluffs of the People’s Republic of Boulder before returning to the DMV.

Win/loss Record: Given Wyoming’s 3-8 record last year there’s not much to hang one’s Stetson on. However I do think the Cowboys will have a better record this go around. New quarterback, returning offensive linemen, and some good transfer prospects gives me some hope of improvement. I see a record of 7-5 or 6-6 depending upon the results versus UNLV.

@ Akron — Win
H UNI — Win
H Utah — Loss
@ Colorado — Loss
H UNLV — Tossup
H SJSU — Win
@ AFA — Win
H CSU — Win
@ SDSU — Win
@ Fresno — Loss
H Nevada — Win
@ Hawaii — Loss

So a return to bowl eligibility. Of course I’d love to see Wyoming Cinderella it’s way to a MWC title, but I’ll take a 7-5 record as a sign the program is getting on track.

Is 2025 the last Border War?

As we inch closer to the 2025 season I wonder if this year will be the last game between Wyoming and Colorado State. Given that the Lambs are joining the Traitor 5 in bolting to the pretend Pac12, will there still be an Annual Border War, or will it be relegated to the dustbin of history? I'm not so sure. The Sheep are pretty full of themselves and may like ditching getting embarrassed by the school up north. What says Poke Nation? Is over 100 Years of tradition about to dry up and blow away?
