How does your team come out flat and uninspired for a season opener....

Bohl falls to five games under .500 overall and three games under .500 in conference. As Ian said elsewhere, let a winnable game slip away, and it's time to expect that we at least don't come out uninspired for a season opener. I'm kind of surprised we aren't better at this stage--Bohl has done a good job of finding talent, IMO our depth has been as good as it's been in years, and we've won a few games other, previous coaches in recent years could never have put us in a place to do so. So how is it we still have a O-Coordinator with such limited imagination? How is it in year seven we have a pass D that plays so soft (420 yards, 39 completions and an 11-yd average per completion)? The Pokes looked tired, uninspired and just...flat for the first half. I thought they would be eager to punch Nevada in the mouth.

Chambers will again start one day for the Pokes, but it'll be tough, and maybe not advisable. Being out for another season while Levi gets seven games to improve could be tough for Chambers to overcome if we win. We still don't know if he'll ever develop more as a passer (68-147 career comp./att.). But, injuries are as common at UW as handoffs up the middle are, and the one thing QB's, RB's and O-linemen at UW always have in their favor is that the guy ahead of them will get injured at some point. So what Chambers has in his favor is that neither he or Williams have that much game experience(12 games-13 if you count three plays on Saturday). If Levi stays healthy, both will have roughly the same number of games played by the end of this season, so it all comes down to whether we win with him.

Nonetheless, one of the reasons we're still under .500 in year seven is because the QB position hasn't been that consistent/stable for over two years...

The other thing...Chambers' durability. Two broken fibulas and a busted up knee in 12 games. That's not bad luck. I hope he makes the comeback, but his body is beat up badly for a 20-21 year old guy and as a runner, one thing he definitely get's to look forward to playing in Bohl's offense is getting injured...again.
