I watched 4 days of the Eastern A tournament at the Metra in Billings last weekend because my nephew played part time for Laurel. I honestly never thought I would see a kid that deserves a Div 1 Schollie in A ball in Montana. Montana is noted for having some fine Indian teams up here at times and on occasion a D1 player is born. I am not considering Big Sky teams at D1.
I happened to sit with some Havre fans the third night of the tourney and I said I was sure impressed with Dane Warp. He usually played point guard and was listed as 6'5" The Havre guys said he was offered by Carroll both in football and basketball. This kid can play D1 easily and is a great shot. dribbles great and our coaches should look at him. Please pass his name to Larry S, they are playing for State at Dahlberg Arena @ University of Montana. This kid ripped up the tourney and scored 90 in three games. He can Dribble drive and shoot very well. Our old Cowboy line coach and player named Mike Diest is Carrolls coach so someone should try to steal this kid for next year. He tore up 6' guards trying to guard him 1 on 1.
