I haven't posted anything on here for a few years but follow this board and UW sports very close. I graduated from Laramie High (class of '75 - go Plainsmen!) and from 1st to 12th grade didn't miss any home football games and also made my share of road games. After high school I went to Baylor for a few years then transferred home and finished up at UW. This last week I went back to Baylor for the first time in 20 years and was given a personal tour. The difference between our facilities and their new stadium isn't just night and day difference, but deepest darkest night and full on middle-of-the-sun difference. One can read and hear about differences between the P5 conferences and everyone else, but until it's actually seen, it's difficult to fathom. I am fully aware that Baylor's stadium is the exception and not the rule for many of the P5 schools, but am also fully aware that with the TV money now in college sports, it won't be long before we will be left in the dust - not just by a little, but by a lot - and that truly makes me sad.
I have been and will always love UW and its sports teams, but after last week, my enthusiasm will be severely tempered in comparison to what the larger conferences can and do offer their recruits. I think Coach Bohl can make Wyoming relevant on the MWC stage, but I think if Wyoming ever wants to be relevant on national stage, it will have to be with its basketball program.
GO POKES!!
BYU WILL ALWAYS SUCK!![/URL]
