I used today's bowl eligibility criteria to see how the Cowboys previous teams would had fared going back to 1977 with bowl eligibility. In brackets, I put the bowl the Cowboys attended in the specific season when they made a bowl.
1993-1999: The Cowboys were bowl eligible 7 seasons in a row. Two bowl appearances. No wins. (Tiller, Dimel tenures).
2016-2022: The Pokes have been bowl eligible 6 seasons in a row minus the shutdown season. (Bohl Tenure)
1987-1990: Paul Roach made 3 bowls in 4 seasons with 2 marquee appearances in the Holiday Bowl
From 1985-1999: The Cowboys were bowl eligible 11-out-of-15 seasons. Participating in 4 bowls during the stretch. Winning none.
During the Glenn/Christensen/Koenning: Bowl eligible 4 times in 14 years. Winning 2 bowl games.
Glenn/Christensen produced 4 bowl eligible years out of 11 seasons.
Cowboys have won two outright Championships (Roach), two division titles (Tiller, Bohl), one 3-way Co-Championship (Tiller 1993), and were bowl eligible 25 times out of 45 seasons (56% of the time) and making 12 bowl games during the period from 1977-2022. Bohl's tenure has a 75% bowl eligibility clip.
