LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 27, 2021) – The Wyoming Cowboys look for their third-straight road win on Monday heading to Cal State Fullerton to take on the Titans at 8 p.m. MT in a contest on ESPN+. It will mark Wyoming’s first trip to Fullerton, Calif since 2001.
Fans can listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com. The contest will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Reece Monaco will have the call with Kevin McKinney on color.
About The Teams
Wyoming tied an NCAA record with 28 made threes on Friday evening against Hastings College. Wyoming hit 15 in the first half and 13 in the second frame. Wyoming is averaging 11 made threes per game on the season which ranks first in the conference and No 12 in the nation.
The Cowboys scoring 84.6 points per game and allowing 56.8, the scoring margin of +27.8 ranks seventh in the nation. Defensively, Wyoming is holding opponents to 33 percent from the field to rank third in the nation.
The Titans are led by ninth-year head coach Dedrique Taylor. He’s coached a total of 22 years, accumulating a record of 318-329. Taylor owns a 103-140 mark in Fullerton. He guided the Titans to the NCAA tournament during the 2017-18 season after they won the Big West tournament. Cal State Fullerton went 6-10 last season, which included a 6-7 mark in league action. The Titans were selected ninth in the preaseason 10-team Big West poll.
About The Players
Wyoming is led in scoring by Graham Ike at 19.2 points per game. He also leads the team adding 7.8 rebounds per game. He ranks No. 45 in the nation in scoring and has two double doubles this season. Guard Hunter Maldonado adds 19 points per game and 7.3 rebounds and leads the team with 5.3 assists per game. Guard Drake Jeffries adds 13 points per game and broke a MW record with 11 threes against Hastings College. He ranks sixth in the nation with four three pointers per game and ranks second in the country shooting 57 percent from behind the arc.
The Titans are led by E.J. Anosike who pours in 18.3 points per game. He also leads Fullerton on the glass, grabbing 8.8 rebounds per contest. Dante Maddox Jr. is the only other Titan averaging double figures in points per game, tallying 11.2 points per game. Four players average between 8.2-9.2 points per contest.
About The Series
Wyoming leads the all-time series against the Titans 5-1 and are 2-0 in Fullerton. CSU Fullerton won the last meeting in 2019 by a score of 60-53 in Laramie.
