Cowboys Head South to Face Air Force on Saturday​

Contest will be on CBS Sports Network​

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Oct. 9 ,2023) – The Wyoming Cowboys (5-1 Overall, 2-0 MW) hit the road for the second time this season and first time in Mountain West play heading south to take on Air Force (5-0 overall, 3-0 MW on Saturday evening at 5 p.m. in Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs. It is a meeting of two teams just outside the Top-25 in the nation.



The contest will be broadcasted on CBS Sports Network with Rich Waltz on the call joined in the booth by Aaron Taylor and on the sidelines by Justin Walters. The game will also be available on the 26 stations of The Cowboy Sports Network with Keith Kelley on the call, Kevin McKinney on color and Erick Pauley on the sidelines.



Entering this week’s Wyoming at Air Force game, both the Cowboys and Falcons are receiving votes in both the Associated Press Media Poll and the AFCA Coaches’ Poll.



The Wyoming Cowboys enter this week’s game receiving 60 points in the AFCA Coaches’ Poll and 42 points in the Associated Press poll to rank No. 27 in both rankings.



Air Force is receiving 58 points in the AFCA poll and 41 points in the Associated Press poll to rank No. 28 in both rankings.



The Wyoming-Air Force rivalry has seen a series of hard-fought, close games through the years. Since Craig Bohl took over as head coach of the Cowboys in 2014, the series has been particularly close with all the games being decided by no more than 14 points and four of the eight games being decided by single digits.

Wyoming Improves Home Winning Streak to Five Games


The Wyoming Cowboys have won each of their five home games this season. The last home game the Cowboys lost was the final home game of the 2022 season when Boise State notched a narrow 20-17 victory over the Pokes in Laramie. Two of Wyoming’s five home wins in 2023 have come against Top 25 ranked opponents. The Pokes began the season defeating then No. 24 ranked Texas Tech 35-33 in double overtime. On Oct. 7, Wyoming defeated Fresno State, who was ranked No. 24 at the time, by a score of 24-19.
