I went to the Billings game and came away happy for the most part. The refs called a pretty good game until the last 5 minutes. Then when the calls were more critical because time was running down , I felt they should have let the teams decide who could throw the knockout punch. Instead they started calling the little fouls they had been letting go all day. Plus we didn't hit our free throws when we needed to.
I like our talent a lot. A little disappointed in our inside game. We should have beaten the Bobcats with that advantage alone. No one wanted to get their hands dirty. We have a lot of guys who can take over a game. That is nice to see. Our help defense needs a lot of work. We would quit guarding on their spin moves. No one would come over to help. On half the 3's they made we had a hand in their face. I think we beat them by 20 at home. I finally got to see some faces to match up to the names I have been hearing about. We finally have some depth. Would like to see a few more guys take it to the hoop, and more made 3's. But we weren't getting beat back down the court like we were last year. So overall I like this group. We could use a Leonard Washington type of player to toughen them up. But it looks like we are starting to put out a longer type of team on the court. We are getting closer to match up with SDSU.
