Here is my beef, I know the basketball team is frustrating but we need to wake up here. Hell, I get frustrated too with the offensive struggles this team has on a regular basis. I am not sure what the whining about how poor our scoring output does, except force the university to contemplate making a coaching change for some hot shot coach that has teams that score 90 points a night but play virtually no defense.
We need to be careful what we wish for. Example; Rocky Long was the football coach at New Mexico and the team never got over the hump. However they were perennial bowl contenders and always right there in the hunt for a conference title but never could get there, with the only exceptions being his first and last years when they had losing records. So the Lobo fans pitched a fit and eventually the university sent him packing, looking for a coach that would win the MWC. Enter Mike Locksley.... and it became a dumpster fire that has still not been put out. New Mexico and Wyoming are similar in many ways and I fear that if we send Shyatt packing we could get a Locksley or just as bad......Heath Schroyer. So I guess I would rather be frustrated but win 20 games a year and go to the post season even its the CBI then take the chance, roll the dice, go through the attrition of half the roster and hope and pray that THIS TIME we found the diamond in the rough coach. Shyatt WANTS to be here, is a great teacher and person. Does he have weakness? Yep, its obvious that his teams are very inconsistent offensively but we can fix that with the right roster of talent. Lets not get carried away with the whining and bitching and just see this thing through.... Ok Raydio and Whiningsolvesnothing? See it through.
