Due to a concert last night, I could only watch about 20 minutes of the basketball game. The Cowgirls beat Adams State 90-41. The starters were Dent, Roberts, Cotton, Kelley, and Gomez (new Fr player from Spain). Gomez hit two 3s while I was there, and Roberts and Cotton each had 4 points before I left. Kelley and Dent looked tough on defense, and Gomez ended the game with 9 rebounds (7 of those D). I was very happy to see Cotton back because I had really heard nothing about her recovery! She brought so much energy to the team last year, and it hurt when she went down. Almost every player scored last night. If this rings true against stronger teams, having the scoring spread out among several players instead of depending on only a few to score would be a big improvement this season. Dent and Kelley are in a position to be strong leaders during their senior year.
