The Pokes barely went 4-0 against WEAK competition. For crying out loud, The Pokes lost to UNM in the WAR! (If there was ever a bad beat I’d say losing to the Nobos was one).

The Pokes lost to FSU In Laramie.

Then the Pokes made a change and the Pokes took it to the Sheep (Thank God).

They lost to the truck drivers.AGAIN in Boise again. (Primarily because of STUPID lack of discipline penalties

Then there is USU. The Pokes looked GREAT. They looked looked like MWC Conference contenders.

How does a team that’s 1-5 in conference dominate a team that’s 5-1 and in 1st place?

mid it because the Pokes threw the ball and had two receivers (Cobb & Neyor) who made some great receptions? Was it because Levi put the ball where ‘only his receivers could catch it’?

Did Coach Bohl finally let his OC call the plays? Did Levi audible?

I don’t know. But I do care.

The way the Pokes played against CSU and USU is the way I thought they would play all season.

So what’s the difference? The D has been steady all year. The issue has been the O.

Is it Levi? Maybe. Is it Coach Bohl allowing is OC to pass on 1st down? Did the O line have a ‘Come to Jesus moment’? I have no clue.

Here’s what I know. This is a season list. The Pokes had more than enough talent to win the MTN. They didn’t. The vest they can fit ish is in the bottom half and ‘beg’ for a Bowl Bid.

What’s the path forward in year 8 if Bohl Ball?

Here’s my tboughts.

The Pokes ‘open things uo’ whe. They are seriously behind or when the season is lost.

Who’s that on? It’s coaching. Who’s the HC? It’s Coach Bohl.

After every season there should be a’Debrief’. If the Cowboy Football program is going to be a true ‘winning’ ‘Too 50 Program’. Here’s my thoughts

Coach Bohl has to embrace a true ‘Pro Style Offense’. It means that he has to instill and back it up with aggressive play calling. Don’t call for a fair catch with 7 sec to go in a half. Don’t kneel with 7 sec to go in the 1st half.

BE AGGRESSIVE. Let The QB air it out on a hope and a prayer to a potential NFL receiver (come on Neyor had proved that if you can get the ball close he will catch it)

So what is the path forward to ‘success’ for the Cowboy Football Program?

First and foremost Coach Bohl has to recognize it’s time to embrace AGGRESSIVE offense. That means a true balanced attack. That means pass on 1st down. Pass when your team is inside their own 5 yd line.

The D is in ‘Good Hands’. It’s the O that is the issue.

WHY?? because Bohl’s O for the last 8!hrs has been PREDICABLE!

Against USU the O wasn’t predictable. The O scored POINTS. Beaucoup points!

Yes for sure the D made some plays and USU had some ARGH moments (the bad FG snap comes to mind).

Is TB going to make a change? I don’t think so. Did Coach Bohl realize his job was in jeopardy? maybe.

Here’s what I saw.against USU. if the Pokes O can keep the opponents D guessing the Pokes now have the talent to WIN.

THE 64,000 question or should I say the $64,000,000 dollar question is will Coach Bohl learn, adapt and embrace taking CHANCES?

That’s a lot to ask. He has experienced success being conservative, managing the game from the sideline.

Maybe he should at least go to a Mike Leach coaching seminar. He doesn’t have to embrace the whole concept of the Air Raid. Please Just let the ‘concept’enter his playbook.

Should TB terminate Coach Bohl? Perhaps Should TB evaluation of Coach Bohl be critical? it better be.

There is NO EXCUSE for the inept Offensive performance for 7 of the first 8 games.

Has Coach Bohl built a ‘program’ at UW? yes. he has. Is it a ‘winning program’? A .500 program +/- Is not a ‘Winning Program’

By any measure this years results are ‘disappointing’. Finishing in the bottom half of the MWC MTN Div is not only a disappointment, it’s a FAILURE.

Where the Pokes finish in the MTN Div this year is squarely on the Coaching staff and Coach Bohl is in charge

Will Coach Bohl return next year. probably. The only way he won’t is if he chooses to retire.

While his results aren’t ‘spectacular’ what he has accomplished in rebuilding the football program can’t be dismissed. His walkon orogram is exceptional.

If he has a ‘fatal fault’ it’s that he stays with an ‘experienced’ player to long and ‘keeps the offense in an absolutely overly conservative.

Sometimes a successful coach says I trust my players and say WTF

I purposely took a ‘pause’ the last 3 weeks. Could Levi be a ‘game changer’? Yes he could but he needs some serious coaching. If he can afford it, id invest in some off season coaching. Levi has potential and he is a ‘RS freshman’. He could opt out in two years.

A bigger worry is that Neyor enters the portal. I hope that the coaching staff is ‘constantly recruiting him’. IMO Mr Neyor is an NFL caliber WR.
