Louisiana is in a sever budget crises built up over a long time. Now that oil and gas prices are in the tank and the state spent too much money on "credits" to stimulate business - versus comprehensive reform - eliminate duplication is all areas, set a tax code to match and compete with the surrounding states. They are talking about cuts so sever LSU may have to cut out summer school. OK should not be a problem....except that the Football program uses summer school to get more than half of the LSU team eligible!
Does a similar situation at UW exist? I don't think so - I do spend some time in Laramie on the academic side each year, but I am not on campus day in and day out - so I might be wrong. I like to think UW is a university with a football program.
LSU, based on living here, and the majority if not all of the SEC teams, are FOOTBALL PROGRAMS with a university.
