Looking back at this season and the primary takeaway I have is that we are who we thought we were.

The sequence of the schedule, the QB switch, etc. kind of masked the true results.

In the end, we beat all the bad teams (one FCS team and 5 FBS opponents with a combined 15-45 record) and lost to all the good teams (4 ranked squads, pending USU’s finish, an 8-4 SEC team and 8-5 Hawaii on the islands).

As predicted at the beginning of the season, we were good to great on D and somewhere between bad and nauseating on O. Pokes finished 2nd in the MWC in Total Defense and 11th on Offense (thank you SJSU!, although the Pokes were dead last in points scored).

The running game was better than expected, the passing game worse, but in the end we finished about where I expected.

What does this mean moving forward? Hell if I know, but I wouldn’t put any money on this team being a top half offense anytime soon no matter who starts at QB next year (assume it will be Chambers).
