Auburn is ranked #1, and Bruce Pearl has them playing at a very high level. I am thinking about how the Pokes can take that next step and improve for next season.
I am not comparing Wyoming to these schools but watching Auburn's two guards, who are both really active guards with impressive quickness. I know that Wyoming's and Auburn's game(s) are very different, but I agree with those that follow the Pokes who say we need a quick guard to bring up the ball and is good at guarding. That was obvious a few games back when the Pokes played against New Mexico's quick guards.
We also need someone to emerge from amongst the bigs to help and protect Ike. Teams, and especially good teams have been able to take him out of the game plan some. I would love to see both DuSell and Foster come back and help this team, as we need more scoring from the 3 spot. Wenzel played hard and played (I thought) decent defense, but he added no points from that position. We need more outside scoring right now from other than Jeffries. Oden has picked it up some and this has become very important for this team.
I am impressed with what Linder is doing, he is a smart coach who I hope Burman is able to extend his contract with a hefty pay raise.
