Wyoming in Extension Negotiations with Larry Shyatt
LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 22, 2015) – University of Wyoming Athletics Director Tom Burman announced Wednesday he is in negotiations for a contract extension with head men’s basketball coach Larry Shyatt. Details of the extension should be finalized in the near future. Shyatt recently completed his fifth season at Wyoming by guiding the Cowboys to a Mountain West tournament title and the program’s first berth in the NCAA tournament since 2001-02. The Pokes went 25-10 overall in 2014-15, as Shyatt owns a 103-60 record at Wyoming.
“We are committed to Coach Shyatt and his entire staff,” Burman said. “Larry and his staff have done an outstanding job of building a program here at Wyoming that Cowboy fans can be proud of. We are currently working on the details of Coach Shyatt’s extension, but we want everyone to know that we look forward to our current staff being here for years to come.”
“The Shyatt family is proud to continue the process of developing a successful program here at Wyoming and I look forward to finishing my collegiate coaching career here,” Shyatt said.
