LARAMIE, Wyo. (July 22,2022) – The Cowboy basketball team will leave this Sunday for first international trip since the 2016-17 season. The Pokes trip will be from July 24 to August 4. Wyoming will spend time in Athens and Patras.
The Pokes will play three contests facing off against Panerythraikos BC on July 27 and
Panathinaikos Select on July 28 with both contests taking place in Athens. The Pokes will then head to Patras and take on Promethius Patras on July 30.
Wyoming will do a ride range of activities along with practice during the trip. The Cowboys will take a bike tour of Athens on July 26. The team will tour the Acropolis and museums on July 28 prior to their contest that evening. The Pokes will also see a soccer match, which is a Champions League contest with Olympiacos FC v. Maccabi Haifi.
The Pokes will wrap up the trip in the Athens Riviera with a Greek scavenger hunt on August 1. The team will then take a sea kayak tour on August 2 before wrapping up the trip with a boat tour of Greek islands on August 3.
