The years of developing talent and then to see it come to fruition are over. The talent is out there, but you have to be willing to go out and get it in the portal.

The ones that this whole situation really hurts are the high school kids. I thought this whole NCAA was set-up to help kids, but I guess not. In peoples mad rush to look out for number one, there will be bodies left on the side of the road, and right now these are the high school kids.

Coaches have to win (sooner rather than later) to keep their jobs, so they have to go out and find the best talent that they can to win with. Sure the highest high school talent will be recruited to the P5 schools, but what about the guys that are late bloomers, or just need the right coaching and patience from a coaching staff to develop. That has been lost with the portal and the other changes. Unless Wyoming moves down to FCS level the Wyoming coaching staff is going to have to pass over some HS kids to find talent in the portal. These kids will go down to the FCS level instead of Wyoming and Wyoming will have to poach kids from the FCS clubs.

Did anyone think for one moment long term on all of these decision in the NCAA? I know that much of this was driven by the courts systems that have heard cases, but in the end, the richer will become richer in college football and there will be a lot of kids and schools kicked to the side of the road in this madness drive for money. Just my two cents as I move to the side of the road as an over the hill, washed up, used to be football fan.
