There is only one thing preventing me from jumping out my window over the fact that Shyatt's extension hasn't been announced yet, and that is the fact there is a Board of Trustees meeting this week. A wise man told me over the weekend that the extension may be sizable enough that they need and/or want BoT approval before announcing it. I hope that's the case. Does anyone know what UW's internal controls are like in terms of what the Trustees have to sign off on, and what they don't?
Burman went to the press way back on April 22 to alert them that negotiations were underway. That was basically three weeks ago. I'm a little bit dumbfounded that this isn't done and put to bed yet.
If you go back and look at the press releases for the Schroyer and Christensen extensions in '09 and '11 there are no mentions of BoT approval.
Am I currently in a state of panic? No. But if we get through next weekend without a deal announced there's going to be a riot on the north side of Cheyenne that will make Baltimore look like a children's carnival.
