This loss hurts. No doubt about it. A couple of quick comments though:
1. The beauty of being a sport fan is in both the ecstasy and the pain. There have been far too many years with no real emotional involvement because it was clear the team was going nowhere. I am so appreciative of our current team giving us the opportunity to care this much this late into the season.
2. We weren't out-coached, we were out-recruited. We simply have to get some more quickness and athleticism on the perimeter. I think DuSell and Foster's injuries are finally catching up to us, but I am not sure either of those guys can consistently stay in front of House or Mashburn either.
3. Maldo and Jeffries were a combined 4-21 from the field and 1-9 from 3. Somehow this was a 3-point game with less than a minute to go. There is certainly an alternate version of this game where Drake hits his shots and the Pokes win.
Now we see how this team responds to some real adversity and pressure. They pretty much have to win the rest of the home games. I hope we get big crowds.
