which means UW went 7-5 instead of 6-6 and would have gone to the NM Bowl- most likely instead of NM . That was the initial year of the NM Bowl and they took UNM even though UW had beaten them in ABQ. That being said the Syracuse game was in double OT and a very enjoyable game. Sween came off the bench and had a great game tying drive late in the game. 'Cuse also backed out of the home and home agreement w/UW after UW bailed them out of a scheduling problem by agreeing to playing them first. UW failed to get a huge payout if SU didn't play in Laramie.
