I went back to what I consider the modern era of Wyoming football to see how much our successful teams passed the ball compared to throwing. What I found is that Erickson and Bohl are the outliers. Most of the time we threw the ball slightly more than passed.

team passed 58% and ran 42% of the time (79.9 ppg); scored 299 points for a per game average of 24.9 - 6-6 (4-4)

team passed 56% and ran 44% of the time (78.6 ppg); scored 426 points for a per game average of 32.8 - 10-3 (8-0)

team passed 47% and ran 53% of the time (75.7 ppg); scored 511 points for a per game average of 39.3 - 11-2 (8-0)

team passed 46% and ran 54% of the time (71.1 ppg); scored 327 points for a per game average of 25.2 - 9-4 (5-3)

team passed 48% and ran 52% of the time (70.5 ppg); scored 357 points for a per game average of 29.8 - 8-4 (6-2)

team passed 52% and ran 48% of the time (75.4 ppg); scored 464 points for a per game average of 38.7 - 10-2 (7-1)

team passed 44% and ran 56% of the time (73.4 ppg); scored 318 points for a per game average of 26.5 - 7-5 (3-4)

team passed 47% and ran 53% of the time (70.4 ppg); scored 339 points for a per game average of 26.1 - 8-5 (5-2)

team passed 38% and ran 62% of the time (71.6 ppg); scored 503 points for a per game average of 35.9 - 8-6 (6-3)

team passed 44% and ran 56% of the time (61.1 ppg); scored 305 points for a per game average of 23.5 - 8-5 (5-3)

team passed 31% and ran 69% of the time (63.7 ppg); scored 330 points for a per game average of 25.4 - 8-5 (4-4)

team on pace for 37/63% split and generating 64 ppg and 22 points per game
