While Wyoming's 2015 recruiting class is winding down, the Cowboy coaches are already working on the 2016 class and that includes super-recruit, Bryce Peters. The 6-foot-4 guard from West Covina (Calif.) said he will be getting a visit from the Wyoming staff tomorrow.
"I think we will probably talk about my summer and then hopefully figure out a time I can take a visit there," Peters said on Thursday.
Currently, Peters holds scholarship offers from Wyoming, USC, San Diego State, San Francisco, Arizona State, Rice, Oregon State, Cal State-Northridge, UTEP, UC-San Diego, UC-Irvine, and Pepperdine. When asked what coaches tell him he does well, Peters offered a list of strengths to make any Cowboy fan excited.
"Coaches say I play hard all the time, no matter what the score is," Peters said. "I would say I am a great inside-out player. I can break down zones pretty easily. I am able to guard the best player on the floor. My pick-and-roll is strong. I know when to pass to the bigs or when the wings are open."
Peters said he is looking for a basketball program that plays fast, plays pressure defense the entire game and doesn't play much zone defense. He said he doesn't have any preference on a region of the country where he wants to play.
Wyoming, along with Pepperdine, Arizona State, and UC-San Diego are the schools that stand out to Peters to-date. The Cowboys have one advantage, that being the fact they have a commitment from Peters' high school teammate, Jordan Naughton, to play in Laramie next season.
"My teammate Jordan Naughton just committed there," Peters said. "That helps them by far. Seeing a teammate go there is great. Being able to play with a teammate, would be nice."
For now, Peters, who played summer league with Prodigy, will visit Arizona State soon and then enjoy his final season of summer league basketball before making a decision prior to his senior season.
