Head coach Larry Shyatt has invited all University of Wyoming employees and their families to meet the Cowboy men’s basketball team on Sunday.
The Pokes will practice from 5 to 6:30 p.m. MT on Sunday in the Arena-Auditorium, giving UW faculty and staff a chance to see the team and receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the renovations to the building. Attendees can meet the players and coaches at the end of practice and get autographs on the new 2015-16 team poster.
“It is very important to our basketball family that we extend an invitation to our most important family around, our fellow University of Wyoming employees,” Shyatt said. “When the white stuff comes down and the roads may be closed, it’s our student body, our university personnel and our Laramie community that we need for extra energy on the court.”
Wyoming won the Mountain West tournament last spring, but welcomes back just one starter and seven letterwinners this fall. The 2015-16 roster features six freshmen and six sophomores who join two juniors and just one senior, Josh Adams.
The Cowboys open the season on Nov. 7 with an exhibition game against Fort Lewis in the Arena-Auditorium, as the Pokes will unveil their championship banner in a special pregame ceremony.
