I was just thinking tonight about future scheduling for men's basketball. It should be interesting. All we have heard about is how hard it is to bring opponents into Laramie, and I have no doubt that it isn't easy. But much of what scheduling is about besides the dollars, are the relationships that coaches have with each other. That is the reason why we saw South Carolina on our schedule when Edwards was here. With Jeff Linder now taking over, will we see a regular dose of N. Colorado? How about Colorado since he has a good relationship with Tad Boyle? What about Gonzaga as I read that coach Linder knows Mark Few well enough to receive high praise from him? Will we maybe see schools from the West Coast more? This has been a crazy year but I would imagine that basketball season will go on as scheduled and I wonder how many games for this coming season still need scheduling?
I remember Coach Linder saying that he was expecting to win right away, with the impressive recruiting class right off the bat, that very likely might be the case, and good scheduling has a big impact upon a successful season.
