Hearing and reading what Bohl said about the recruiting class yesterday got me to thinking that there are some possible position changes coming up when spring ball comes about.
We were all talking about the DE position and who was going to be there next season. With the loss of Engelhaupt that makes that an even bigger question. However, if the coaches are intent on playing Alec Stewart at the TE position then it means that they have some other things in mind for the DE position.
Maybe Kevin Prosser doesn't get changed back to the LB position. Maybe they are thinking seriously about an interior defensive linemen like Youhanna Ghaifan moving over to the DE position???
The move of Alec Stewart to the TE position makes that a really crowded position. It tells me that the coaches are planning on playing more 2 TE formations. But the Pokes signed two TE's. Maughan and Stewart, and with Fort coming back that is a lot of guys coming into that position. You already had Jacob Hollister and Tyree Mayfield and Josh Harshman there. My take is that of course Jacob Hollister and Tyree Mayfield will stay, but that would mean Josh Harshman would be moved to another position . At 6'-3" 207 he could be moved to either a DE position or a LB position, any thoughts?
