Can you coordinate and create an on-line (Facebook?) petition using much of the information that's been submitted in posts with the capacity for supporters to sign on? The petition could then be forwarded to all legislators demonstrating the need to support the $8 million funding. We have to counterbalance the Casper Star Tribune, Wyoming Tribune Eagle and other voices. I appreciate Southerns effort to provide balance to this issue with the newspapers but most likely they won't do much with it. I saw Wyopokes letter to the editor (good one) but we need something additional, IMPACTFUL and LONG LASTING and a petition to the legislature would do that. Having presented requests to the legislature before I know they pay attention to constituent feedback. I don't think either newspaper is going to do much beyond an occational letter given their slanted sentiment.
I'm happy to submit my thoughts on this matter but not technical enough to coordinate the effort. Just seems a petition with a significant number of signatures would carry quite a bit of weight and drive home the fact there are a ton of supporters and voters that won't appreciate eliminating any or all of the $8 million dollars. Finally, I think it's important to find out what day the topic will be discussed by the legislature and consider presenting each legislator ANOTHER copy of the petition outlining the reason why we don't think eliminating the $8 million is a good idea.
