Some of the first Wyoming basketball games I really remember watching on TV were when the Cowboys would go to Kansas. Then I looked at some of their schedules from the early 2000's and you see them scheduling teams like USC, LSU, South Carolina, and a number of other power conference opponents. Now a days though, besides Ohio State, it seems like we aren't ever able to schedule a road game against one of these power 5 conference teams. I feel like we need to take an approach sort of like Texas Southern schedule (played 7 power 5 conference schools, as well as Gonzaga). If we were even able to play 2 or 3 of these teams a year, I feel like it would really benefit our guys when it comes to conference season. I hope Wyoming going forward takes a few more risks in their scheduling and they decide to play some bigger schools.
