...looking at the game stats it translated to "every guard not named Adams needs to take a few more shots--and not just threes." For the game, Adams took 19 FG attempts..Mcmanamen, Washington and James took just 13 shots...combined. Eight of those were threes. Only five shots inside the arc from the other three guards...

In the 2nd half, Adams takes 11 FG attempts, Mcmanamen, Washington and James....five... combined. This isn't a bust on Adams--he's doing what he can. And I get everyone's crashing the boards because we're small--and the guards were pretty good with that tonight. If another consistent scorer would somehow emerge, we'd be on our way. Josh Adams gives a clinic every night on different ways to score the ball--threes, drives in the lane, and getting to the line. Even mixes in some short range shots. The others seem hesitant to follow his lead, instead hanging around on the arc and crashing the boards when Adams drives. Is this the game plan?

Ideally, it would be nice to have two guards getting 18-20 a night instead of Adams being required to get 25-35 a night and the others splitting 20 points.

What's wrong with a 10-12 footer these days? Everybody in college basketball is living on the three line, but when I see Adams attacking and getting seven points off free throws, I wonder why others aren't seeing what he's doing and imitating it. It's even more puzzling because our other three guards were hitting their free throws tonight--10-13--so we missed some opportunities there.
