Dear lord did the MWC have a bad night.
We are got our asses kicked in ways I had hoped we had grown past.
AFA lost by 18 to Montana (maybe not even a Top 3 Big Sky team).
Fresno lost to USF (USF is good, not a bad loss, but not a breakthrough win that FSU was hoping for).
USU lost to BYU by 11 (again, not a bad loss at all, but a missed opportunity against a BYU team at less than full strength)
SDSU beat Fullerton by 10, but that is ver misleading due to some FT’s at the end. Was a 3 point game with a couple of minutes left and pretty much a 1-2 possession game for most of the second half. This was in San Diego.
UNLV spanked Seattle, that’s really the only game where the MWC performed better than expected. 1-5 ATS, 2-4 W-L.
Not sure there is a legit at-large contender in this league other than CSU. I thought this was a 3 bid league before the season but 2 bids is the ceiling now I am afraid.
The league will finish much higher in overall conference rankings because the bottom of the league is DRAMATICALLY better, but the top has not been impressive enough.
