We're not that far away from winning, we just have to clean up a couple things (e.g., Coach Christensen after every loss from 2012-2013). I always thought that was mostly coach speak. Tonight though we literally did just clean up a couple things and the entire game turned around. Our defense did play better in the second half, we held them to 31.3% from the field and 28.6% from 3. The first half the shot 40% from 3 and the field. The big difference though to me was Shyatt told the boys to RUN.

Adams played better because it was easier from him to attack their interior when they weren't fully set up on defense. We shot a lot more of our shots in the first 15 second of the shot clock that we ever do. It was fun to watch, and you could see huge smiles on all the Wyoming players faces in the huddles during timeouts (which for some reason were being live streamed so NV could watch and listen to the magical things Shyatt was saying).

This is always a hot button, but I really do feel that one of the reasons Poke fans have been slow to come back in the past four years is Shyatt's style of play. Not everyone loves good defense. Sure it's great to hold a team to 9 points in a half, but when you only score 20 (SDSU at home in 2013) there isn't that much to get up and cheer about.

I bring this up because Shyatt has been breaking his own mold for this team in the last two games. With Nance back is he still going to going to want to push things a little more? I for one hope so. If we can still play great defense, and be able to add in 5-10 more points from a transition game, the Pokes are going to the tournament and we'll probably win a game or two.
