From newspaper articles in Bozeman, after "numerous" candidates have turned down the MSU job, they have focused on Brent Vigen now as their new HC. From the newspaper article that I read, Choate was making $204,000 a year as his base salary. So it appears that Brent Vigen will have to take a significant pay-cut to take the job. I guess being a new HC is too alluring to pass up.

It will be interesting to see what Bohl does with this opening, and how Brent Vigen does as the new HC after being under Bohl's direction all these years? Will Brent Vigen be considerably different as a HC than he was as an OC? I don't think that he will be considerably different for that matter, but how will his play calling differ at MSU than it was at Wyoming?

Will Bohl go for a clone of Vigen or will he be going in a different direction? I have liked the DC's that he has had to hire and how they have done, but will Bohl be considerably different than he was with them? Personally I hope that the two most important criteria for a new OC is that he be a REAL developer of QB's and be a creative play caller. This very likely will be the most interesting hire Bohl has had to make in his whole time at Wyoming.
