From the UW article on the game...….. "I talked with the players after the game about how 40 of Fresno State's 65 points came off our turnovers and off second-chance points," Wyoming head coach Allen Edwards said. "While we did a good job defending for many of their possessions, we couldn't close out those possessions by getting a defensive rebound. Fresno got 19 offensive rebounds on the night and seven of those offensive rebounds were from one guy -- Nate Grimes."

How can Edwards with a good conscience be criticizing his team about rebounding???? Here is a coach that basically allowed the inside game to die on the recruiting trail. In his 4+ years, Mormon is the only player that could be close to being called a rebounder type when he recruited him. I know, I know, rebounding is all about heart, etc., etc.....but you must address the rebounding game on the recruiting trail by going after and signing guys that have the desire and ability and have already demonstrated it to a certain degree BEFORE he arrives on campus in Laramie. Edwards has basically ignored the rebounding game, and it has shown, where year after year, Wyoming is one of the absolute worse rebounding teams in America and Edwards has NEVER done anything about it.

Brandenburg, McLain and other coaches recruited guys to be rebounders....not Edwards. I just wonder is he that much out of touch with the type of players that he has recruited.....I would think that the HC should know the player pretty well, and what his skill set is and how it will fit into the program before the kid ever sets foot on campus....but you have to wonder about Edwards when he complains about something when he has never ever really recruited a big time rebounder and his offensive schemes make it so that most of the players are not in a position to rebound, but as yet he still critical of his team....

Next game against undefeated San Diego St. (19-0). they are a team with some quality bigs, and they will take us to the woodshed because we have no inside game. But it won't be just an inside game, SDSU plays very good defense inside and outside, based on the fact that we will get virtually no second chances against a good shooting team. We will see how far Edwards program is in its 4th season from the top team in the conference....
