If the Wyoming football program becomes a force in the Mountain West Conference in the next four years, fans may point to last weekend as the start of something special. The recruiting weekend saw five of the eight visiting recruits commit to the University of Wyoming, with others not yet decided.

A possible tipping point for a program fallen on hard times.

"I felt like we had a good group of guys who had the same vision," said Alex Bush, one of the five commits. "We see the program where it needs to be with a new coaching staff and we have that vision like we can help to take this program to the next level and win championships over the next four years.

"We are excited to start that dynasty."

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Bush comes to Wyoming from La Habra High School in La Habra California, where he was First Team All-CIF, First Team All-Area and the Freeway Conference Defensive Player of the Year. For his efforts, he was offered scholarships by Iowa State, Idaho, Montana State, Sacramento State, New Mexico State, and Wyoming.

Last weekend, Bush checked out Wyoming and liked it.

"I felt really comfortable with the new coaching staff, especially knowing their history of winning everywhere they have been," Bush said. "I really connected well with the players and the facilities were just state of the art. I felt good about that and I feel good about where the program is headed."

"The one thing that really hooked me was the conversation with the new Strength and Conditioning Coordinator," Bush said. "He has trained something like 18 All-Americans and one Heisman Trophy winner. I am really looking forward to working with him and seeing how I can develop over the next four years."

Bush said the Wyoming coaches told him they would like him to play some outside linebacker, although given his size, playing in the middle is also not out of the question.
