A Wyoming coaching staff with less than a month until National Signing Day has been beating the bushes for prospects non-stop since landing in Laramie this month.
Among the targets for the Cowboy coaching staff is Lee Crosby, a 6-0, 187-pound sophomore cornerback/safety prospect from Snow Community College in Utah. Crosby said new Wyoming Coach Craig Bowl was in Utah to visit him recently. It was a relationship which was not a new one to Crosby.
"I was already speaking to them while they where at NDSU and he told me if go to Wyoming my offer was still there because I has offer from previous staff also," Crosby said. "Coach Bohl was here. Coach Robinson is coming soon.
"Coach Bohl told me I'm the guy they really want and they going everything they have to do to get me. Coach Bohl said he going fly to Baltimore to visit my mom and that they feel I can come in and be a huge impact.
Currently, the Cowboys rank solidly in Crosby's top five list
Crosby's Wyoming offer is far from his only one. The Baltimore (Md.) native and former Baltimore City College High prep also claims offers from Troy State, New Mexico, Idaho, Southern Miss, Toledo, Georgia Southern and seven Football Championship Series schools. Crosby said he has visits lined up for New Mexico on Jan. 23, Idaho on Jan. 25 and Troy on Jan. 31. He said he and the Wyoming coaching staff is working on a weekday to bring him in for a visit.
Crosby said last season he accounted for 35 tackles, seven passes broken up, three blocked kicks, one fumble forced and one recovered.
