SDSU has been the cream of the crop for the last decade. They consistently bring physical, talented players that wear down teams with their style. Their guard trio is solid. Can't let a team like that shoot 55% from the arc and hope to win. We need to get bigger and deeper, but it's been a while since we had a team with the kind of size SDSU brings consistently. I'd put them as the favorite to win the tournament.
The "shortcomings" of the team are becoming obvious. Need more players. The guys sometimes look....tired. SDSU was able to substitute guys just enough to keep their guards from getting tired. Ike has to power through the double teams. That's all he's going to get, and he has to be willing to get points at the line. We have shooters, but we need to be able to slow down opponents with physical play. Can't believe we didn't hard foul Bradley in the first half. He got everything he wanted. They bumped and shoved us, preventing us from making cuts--slowed us down. Teams who can make adjustments to the 2nd half of MWC play emerge. We enjoyed a nice run through the first part of the schedule, and Linder has done a solid job with what he has, but as teams figured out how to defend our big 2, we've relied on outside shooting to mitigate the slide. Isn't enough. Linder should be coach of the year for getting us this far with six, sometimes 7 guys, but Ike has to take on even more for us to have a shot.
