I was reminiscing about my illustrious collegiate athletic career. I was an undergraduate at Montana, I was a very good runner....when I was 5' 11 and 160 lbs. could run like the friggin Wyoming wind. It was my sophomore year in college and I grew to 6'5 and 205. Just couldn't seem to move despite my best efforts. Decided to give it one more go and trained all summer and walked on in XC at Montana. Actually ran one race and "got the message" that guy who could run like the wind was gone. The race was against Washington State, they had a mess of Kenyans and I saw little of them after the gun went off. To say I finished last is an understatement, I do think they stopped taking times of th epoor sloggers still on the course.
Soooo I thought what if I went to Wyoming first and ran at UW, could I at least finish and actually get a time?

As per the link above "hell no" in fact UW was #3 that year up there with the likes of Oregon and UTEP, the powerhouses of the day and WSU, a power back then, did not even reach top 10. Is this best national finish by the Pokes in a team sport in the modern era?
