with the exception of those of us on this board UW is simply an afterthought, an out of the way place, a barren spot on the horizon, a frozen tundra where perma frost is the order of the day, the place where they filmed Neil Armstrongs first steps on the moon. That's why its imperative that our next BB coach do what Bohl has done for the FB program. To change the mindset. We're not even low hanging fruit. We're potatoes in the ground.

Bohl's past success at NDSU and his recent success at UW has again made us relevant in football. Our FB program is respected and anyone that plays us knows they'll walk away with bumps and bruises rivaling any big time opponent. Obviously that's not the case in BB.

Because of what I said in the first paragraph we have no room to fail especially as miserably as we are in BB. When you're located where we are we have to prove ourselves every year or it becomes too easy to dismiss us, to leave us out of future conference plans and discussions. That's why the next BB coach simply has to do for us what Bohl has. We have to project strength, relevance and prove our worth to the conference so if, or when, conference(s) start discussing how to improve their standing in the overall picture we're not easily left out because we're perceived as a weak link with little leverage. The next BB coach has to know that our BB fortunes go beyond just wins. It's about relevance to the rest of the conference and consistently showing that we belong here just as much as anybody else.
