Currently 4 MWC schools have had Conference games postponed. (Wyo, UNLV, Boise and FSU.
It will be interesting to see how the MWC decides to handle the ‘Postponed’ games.
I don’t see how the games can be made up under the current 2 game series format.
I could see adding 1 extra game over the course of two or 3 weeks, but that makes it really tough on the traveling team.
Another ‘concept’ would be to delay the start of MWC tourney a day and play back to back conference games at the T&M on Mar 1&2. The biggest issue with that ‘concept’ is that would mean at least 4 schools could play 5 games in 7 days and that is a huge disadvantage, not to mention a lot of ‘tired legs’ and an increased risk of injury.
Plus a lot of things would have to happen for something like that ‘concept’ to occur. The most significant would be getting approval from the NCAA and that is problematic at best. .
I think the most likely outcome will be that the MWC will end up canceling the ‘postponed’ games and using winning percentage as the tie breaker for seeding if needed. If schools have the same conference record and didn’t play head to head, then the old coin toss could be the final tie breaker.
I’m curious as what members of the board think?
