Let's say on Wednesday- UW beats Utah State, Sheep beat Nevada, Boise loses at San Jose and SDSU loses at UNLV. Then on Saturday- UW beats NM, Fresno wins at Boise, Sheep lose at Utah St, and Nevada wins at SDSU.
You will have a 5 way tie for first at 12-6. Head to Head among those 5 would be Boise, SDSU and UW w/4 wins, Utah St with 3 and the Sheep w/2. Would they then do head to head between the 3 teams w/4 wins- If so then UW finishes 3rd with the win against Boise. Boise is 1st and SDSU is 2nd. Thus it appears even in the best case possibility, UW can do no better than 3rd.
If UW sweeps, the Sheep beat Nevada but lose to USU, there would be a 3 way tie for 3rd and UW- by sweeping the Sheep gets the #3 slot. That's not out of the realm of possibilities
