It is time for The Hair to reach back out to Gonzaga about admission into the MW for basketball. It's apparent after another flame out in the NCAA Tournament that Gonzaga could really benefit from a tougher league, especially with BYU departing to the Big 12, their time in the WCC has run its course. Yes, St. Mary's is historically good but not good enough to compel Gonzaga to continue to beat the crap out of Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego, Santa Clara, et al. We know the MW is on the come with a revitalized group of coaches. I would say road games at Laramie, San Diego, UNLV, New Mexico, CSU, USU, and Reno would get your knickers more starched and prepared for a NCAA Tournament championship than a couple neutral site games against Top 10 teams organized by ESPN. Yeah, it may delay Wyoming winning a MW championship but a rising tide lifts all boats. That is a heck of recruiting pitch to a young man who wants to play against good competition.
